AHG Supporters – The background behind the HERO WOD ‘Hoppy’. The Australian Hero Games had…
Corporal Hopkins was serving with the Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force (MRTF) in Afghanistan when he was killed while conducting a patrol near Kakarak when he and his team were engaged by a group of around 20 Taliban on Monday 16 March, 2009.
We act as a facilitator in presenting hero workouts to the fitness community. The team at AHG all have a close affiliation to the cause and take a personal vested interest in bringing to the fitness community a workout that is memorable, rewarding and has meaning.
We recognise the key elements the success of the Australian Hero Games are:
The public’s strong support of Australia’s service men and women and the Australian Defence Force
The Crossfit community’s strong bond with our soldiers and its love of competing for a worthy cause
Support from our generous and dedicated sponsors
Support and encouragement from the Australian fitness community
Defence Force and their families and friends.
The challenge is initiated by firmly placing the coin on the table and you offer the challenge to your comrades. This means you are ready to HERO WOD within 24hrs.
Over the last couple of months AHG and a close friend of the new Hero has successfully built the framework to release another Hero WOD into the fitness community. We are humbled to be part of another epic Hero WOD. 1st of November is the release date!
